Gordon Troup, MSc, DSc

Gordon Troup MSc, DSc, is at the School of Physics, Monash University, Victoria, Australia.

Dr. Troup has focused on using  the spectroscopic technique of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) to study transition metal ions and free radicals in gemstones, minerals, Gamma-irradiated foodstuffs, dietary supplements, and beverages (tea, coffee, wines, whisky, brandy, green ginger wine), in collaboration with the Organic Chemistry Department at Monash.  Measurements of antioxidant efficiencies in dietary supplements and beverages have also been made.  The work on beverages and dietary supplements commenced in 1993.
